Goin' Veg

I decided I'm going to try to make the switch to vegetarianism.

Wish me luck!

Funky Town!

Ladies and gentlemen, I am a technology wizard.

I performed some iPod surgery today and long story short, my iPod is back up and running.

I've never heard such sweet, sweet music.

Question du Jour

Is Cool Whip like the Miracle Whip of whipped cream? I mean Miracle Whip is like mayonaise...but it's not...and Cool Whip is like whipped cream...but it's not...

I guess I'll forever remain curious.

Karma Cheetah

I'm getting karmic rewards for my crappy week/life.

It's only Wednesday but I've had the best week. I realized I have friends and I love them more than anything. I would do anything for them! I'm so happy to have these people in my life.

And, although I hate saying these things in blogs, I'm giddy over someone. Blerg. No, it's a good thing! Wee!

Yesterday I saw Into The Wild. I didn't think I'd ever sit down and watch that. I'm glad I did. He kind of said and did everything I wish I could...I'm off to explore the infinite abyss!

Conversations of the Champions

Yesterday, ShawneePants and I were discussing the upcoming Sweeney Todd movie. SP LOVES Sweeney so she's practically on the verge of always peeing her pants. Anyway, she quoted a bit of the play ("So it is you...Benjamin Barker..." and BB says "Not Barker, not Barker...Todd now. Sweeney Todd.")

So, I asked her how Benjamin Barker comes up with the prison name "Sweeney Todd." She said it never says why.

"That's dumb," I say, "That's like me getting out of prison and someone saying, 'hey! Rebecca Frost!' and I respond, 'No. It's Firey Martha now.'"

"I'm totally calling you that from now on," she replies.

ShawneePants and I have the weirdest conversations.

Bloodsuckers

Why, yes, I do have a vampire obsession.

Okay it's not so much "obsession" as "interest." Some of my favorite shows are Buffy and Angel, I loooooooooooooooove the Twilight series (Mmm. Edward.) and right now I'm reading a book called Vamped, a book in which the world is all vampires, humans are rare and the protagonist finds a little girl, his "little Happy Meal" but decides to keep her and raise her. It's so...interesting...

You know, given the choice, I would indeed like to be vampire and live forever. Could you imagine? Being pretty AND living forever? I could get in on that. I'd have to go "vegetarian" like the Cullens. Again, I could get in on that.

But, I haven't really been into the "classic" vampire. Your Lestats, Draculas, Count Choculas...guess it's more of a new age kind of thing.

Blerg.

Alright, so I loved The Graduate. But...I cannot bring myself to write this response paper! The movie had me during the opening sequence. I didn't bother to take notes because I figured I'd go out and buy it (I did, right after that class) and then watch it and take notes from there. Have I??? Of course not! Laziness prevails!

Here's a story about what happened to me today: I'm walking past a Jiffy Lube today and there are two guys holding signs. One says, "hi" and I say "hi" and I keep walking. Then when he thinks I can't hear him, he says, "want your oil changed?" He laughs and high-fives his little pal. The point? My prettiness is such a burden. Bah! I changed my hair color in hopes that I would look more "plain" because this stuff kept happening (waiting at a bus stop, walking down the street, stepping out my front door, breathing!) however, it seems to have had the opposite effect. Apparently I'm hotter--I have friends who can second that. Bah!

I was thinking today, as I was trying on half of my own wardrobe, that if I were to audition for the Twilight movie, I would make a dang good Bella. But that's just my own opinion. Man, I REALLY hope they don't mess up that movie. Edward has set the bar high for mortal boys. I think that now no one will ever be good enough for moi. Hmm...perchance I need myself a vampire.

Alright. I'm off to watch The Graduate. Blerg.

Major Changes

I plan on changing my major to Communications today. The question remains: multimedia or public relations?

"The public have an insatiable curiosity to know everything. Except what is worth knowing. Journalism, conscious of this, and having tradesman-like habits, supplies their demands."

Strawberry Jamz

I'm new to this whole..."blogger" site. But I'm no newbie to blogging! While Myspace is exciting, it must not be exciting enough if I have to venture out into the world of blogging sites (Note: there will be a "blog" word count at the end of this post).

Well well well, where does one begin. I guess I could start with what's been on my mind all day today. I saw Across the Universe yesterday. I know, I know, you're thinking, "What? A hippie like you hasn't seen such an amazing movie yet? How dare you!" How dare me indeed. It was, in a word, amazing. This is film that has all my favorite things: The 60's era, Beatles music, a gorgeous British boy who is artistic AND an incredible singing voice?! Oh AND Eddie Izzard and Bono? What are the chances? The soundtrack is beautifully done. Evan Rachel Wood has a gorgeous voice (I'll forgive her for dating Marilyn Manson...for now...) and the direction, photography and choreography was outstanding. I'd recommend it for anyone. Well. Okay, whoever is into that kind of stuff (which I am).

I decided that summer 2009 I'm going to volunteer in Brazil for the summer. I would do it this upcoming summer but all my friends are coming home from their missions and I miss them! I want to hang out with them. Also, I need to save up for the volunteer program/school. It was a choice, personally, between South Africa or Brazil but I decided on the latter because I would like to work on my mad Spanish skillz. But check it out! >>>> http://www.crossculturalsolutions.org

This upcoming weekend is up in the air, I have made plans to visit my friend in Cedar City, but if I can't find anyone to cover my shift (read: if anyone loves me enough to come in for a Saturday) then I can't go, and I would be immensely distraught. But work is good, school is decent, on my last essay in English I got an A/A so I'm feeling pretty good about that. And what does a normal eighteen year old girl do on a Friday night in? Why, watch Wishbone reruns, of course! I figured I'd try out this blogger thing and see if I like it. All signs point to yes? Si senor.

Quote du Jour: "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together."

"Blog" count: Only 5. How anti-climatic.
