Blogger Challenge: Day 3

Day 3: Favorite Book

Continuing my form of unconventional blog challenge posting...here are some books!

Harry Potter!
I love these books after all these years.

A few Paulo Cohelo books.
I've read The Alchemist, Eleven Minutes, Veronika Decides to Die, and The Devil and Miss Prym. I'm working my way through his books.

Finally...
Anything by F. Scott Fitzgerald
An amazing author.

Blogger Challenge: Day 2

Day 2: Favorite Movie
It's impossible, again, for me to pick a favorite...because I love all kinds of movies (I don't know if you know this, but I used to work in a movie theater sooo...)

For example, I love dramas and dark movies....

I LOVE shooty movies (I love me some guns)

I love irreverent comedies (above all else!)

Mean Girls doesn't qualify as irreverent...but still an absolute favorite.

And finally, I love the movies everyone else hates. I have a framed Cloverfield poster that I love and it's just one of those movies you have to be REALLY into to really enjoy.

Poor Bewitched...everyone hated you. I adored you.

Blogger Challenge: Day 1

A couple of my friends have been doing this blog-a-day thing, and I've found it pretty interesting. Ask me if you would like the list...

That being said, here we go.

Day 1: Your Favorite Song
(I'm a glutton, so I'm posting a favorite song from my top 5 bands)

Difficult choice indeed. I think in the history of favorite songs ever, Wonderwall by Oasis is probably it.

Secondly, let's go with MUSE. Starlight qualifies as my favorite song from them. Although really, I love anything they create.

Thirdly, U2. It's a given a U2 song would be in here (if you know my history of crossing the Atlantic to see them). I'm having a difficult time thinking of my favorite song, so I'll share with you my favorite song from their recent tour: Ultraviolet (Light My Way).

Next up, The Killers. When You Were Young. Zack bought me tickets to see these guys last year, it was the best birthday present :).

Finally, Foo Fighters. I cannot choose just one favorite song. I will leave you with a high ranking song though: Best of You.

Photo Tag

I was tagged sooo:

1. Open your 1st photo folder

2. Scroll to the 10th photo

3. Post the photo and the story behind it.

4. Tag 5 or more people.

(Let me get this "tag" thing out of the way, I don't know who reads my blog so if you read it, YOU CATCH THE TAG-CURSE.)

This picture is tragic. It's one of the last pictures I took with my camera when I got to Ireland last year. My camera isn't broken or anything, it was just being a b**** and wouldn't auto-focus or anything.

ANYWAY, this is from the day we arrived in Ireland. This park was across the street from our hotel (5 star, might I add) and it was SO pretty! This is one of the many entrances, and of course we all posed next to it. It was a tiring day.

Life as of March 12

So, as of the first week of June, I'll be single...I guess.

It was a hard decision. A mutual decision, mind you, but I think it's for the best.

Unemployment suits me well. I know it frustrates some, but I like it. It will be difficult to go back to actually working. I'm very worried about getting a work schedule around my school schedule when I move to Phoenix, but I'm sure it'll work out.

Speaking of which, I'm enrolled at MCC! I'm enrolled in one class officially, and I'm just waiting to get down there to meet someone so I can figure out the rest of my schedule.

Coachella is rapidly approaching! I am SO excited! I lose sleep over it some nights, seriously.

I never thought I would ever move into an apartment. I know it's not until August but I'm excited to finally enter that world of adult living.

That's all for now. Also, I was disappointed in the new Lady Gaga video, but I love her anyway.

Volunteer Efforts

This week, I started volunteering with No More Homeless Pets, an organization that helps homeless pets find homes through adoptions, fostering, etc. It's such an amazing organization and I'm thrilled to work with them!

I started with simple office work, and today I spent my morning helping in a kennel where some of the dogs are kept. There were only three dogs today, an older medium sized dog named Rex, a pitbull mix puppy named Phoebe, and some kind of mini-poodle named Mitch.

Rex was playful and has apparently gone through a major transformation. He came to the kennel baring his teeth and growling, but with training has become a friendly, fun dog.

Phoebe was just a pup who didn't quite understand what I was doing with the ball I was throwing and wanted to go inside after five minutes.

Then Mitch. There are specific instructions to go slow with Mitch. When I arrived, he was huddled in a corner and refused to move. After playing with other dogs for a while, I came inside and he hadn't moved. I entered his kennel and still he didn't move. He came from a family in Duchesne County and no one knows what they did to him to make him terrified of people. It's heart wrenching.

I sat in his kennel with him, trying to get him to respond, but he merely kept his head down. But I stayed with him and gave him all the attention and love I could. He still didn't move.

This is exactly why I am so eager to get into the animal field. I want to help them, I want to rehabilitate them and help the ones who need it most. It's disgusting how some people could abuse their pets this way, and Mitch deserves a wonderful home with a loving family. He just needs some help first.

I cannot wait to go back next week.
